Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver ski lessons to individuals and groups of diverse ages and skill levels.
- Assess students’ skiing abilities and tailor lessons to meet their specific needs and goals.
- Teach skiing techniques, proper posture, balance, turning, stopping, and other essential skills.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to ensure students understand and execute techniques correctly.
- Demonstrate skiing techniques for students to observe and emulate.
- Promote safety on the slopes by enforcing skiing guidelines and maintaining awareness of surroundings.
- Observe students’ progress and offer constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Adapt teaching methods based on individual learning styles and abilities.
- Assist beginners in learning how to use ski equipment and navigate the slopes.
- Organize and supervise group activities and drills to enhance skill development.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters enthusiasm for skiing.
- Address students’ questions, concerns, and inquiries professionally and attentively.
- Assist with equipment rental and fitting for students as needed.
- Collaborate with other ski instructors and staff to ensure a seamless experience for students.
- Uphold the reputation of the ski school by delivering high-quality instruction and customer service.
- Stay up-to-date with skiing techniques, safety protocols, and industry trends.
- Monitor weather conditions and make adjustments to lesson plans when necessary.
- Promote the ski school’s programs, lessons, and events to potential customers.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as tracking student progress and maintaining attendance records.
Qualifications:
- Strong skiing proficiency and the ability to demonstrate various skiing techniques.
- Certification from a recognized ski instructor association, such as PSIA or CSIA, is preferred.
