Responsibilities:

  • Record and classify daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers and subsidiary accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process and monitor invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers, monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding payments.
  • Handle payroll processing, including calculating wages, deducting taxes, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Prepare and submit government remittances, such as sales tax and payroll taxes.
  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize bookkeeping software and spreadsheets to streamline financial recordkeeping and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a finance or accounting setting.
