Responsibilities:

Staff Supervision:

  • Train, supervise, and motivate food service staff to ensure they adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  1. Food Preparation and Service:
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure that dishes are prepared to standard recipes and presentation.
  • Monitor food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Address any issues with food quality or service promptly and effectively.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Greet customers and ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
  1. Inventory and Supplies Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food and supplies as needed.
  • Manage food storage and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Control costs and maintain budgetary guidelines for food and supplies.
  1. Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Train staff on proper food handling and safety practices.
  1. Staff Scheduling:
  • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and busy periods.
  • Handle staff shift changes and replacements as necessary.
  1. Menu Development and Specials:
  • Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Coordinate daily specials and promotions to attract and retain customers.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as payroll, reports, and record-keeping, accurately and timely.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in food service management or related field is an advantage).
  • Proven experience as a Food Service Supervisor or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle busy periods effectively.
  • Knowledge of inventory and cost control principles.
  • Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software is a plus.
